Community Conversation - Brightspace and Information Literacy. Thursday, March 2nd from 3pm-4pm via Zoom

Join SILC on March 2nd to learn about how information literacy and Brightspace can work together. If you’ve got some good strategies you’ve already got in place, feel free to share! If you’re wary about Brightspace, come and learn some tips and tricks! Look out for the Zoom link in your email, and be prepared for a fun conversation with other librarians from 3-4pm!

September’s SILC Community Conversation

This month, the SUNYLA Information Literacy Committee invites you to think out side the box about central library services and consider what if we did things differently?  This month’s conversation will begin with gentle chair yoga and breath work. It is recommended to use a chair without arms or wheels, but it’s not necessary.

We look forward to another engaging conversation Wednesday, September 23, 1-2 via zoom.

For the Zoom url, email Megan Benson at mbenson@binghamton.edu.

Save the Date: August Community Conversation

Imagine explaining the topic of the SILC Community Conversation. Text is below image.

As we near the start of the semester, you may be like us – feeling anxious or nervous, or perhaps your motivation just isn’t there. Join us for August’s SILC Community Conversation, We’re Gonna Be Fine: Motivation and Self-Preservation for Fall 2020.

Once we’ve aired some of our concerns and anxieties, we plan to create a list of resources and ideas for self-preservation. Be prepared to share anything that’s helping you get through these unusual times (social media accounts, playlists, routines, plants, recipes, etc.).

We’ll be meeting on Zoom, August 20, 1-2 p.m.  Email mbenson[at]binghamton.edu for the link.

Join us for a SILC Community Conversation on July 22

The SUNYLA Information Literacy Committee will be holding an informal community conversation next week on Wednesday, July 22 from 1-2pm via Zoom. We plan to discuss active learning strategies for synchronous and physically-distanced instruction. If you have examples of how you have promoted active learning in one of these contexts, we’d love to hear about it!

We will not be recording this meeting, so that participants can feel comfortable speaking frankly about any concerns they might have.

Email westb[at]geneseo.edu for the Zoom meeting link.

We hope to see you there!
