Stony Brook University Campus Updates
« Reply #1 on: March 19, 2020, 11:13:51 AM »
Diane Holliday joined the University Libraries as a Visiting Assistant Librarian in Special Collections and University Archives, effective Thursday, March 19, 2020.

Diane graduated from Stony Brook University with a BS in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology, earned an MBA from Dowling College, and attained an MLS degree and Certificate in Archives and Preservation of Cultural Materials from CUNY Queens College.

She was an associate professor/reference librarian at Dowling College for nearly 20 years, and then at St. Joseph's College. Currently, she is an archival consultant to the Pollock-Krasner Study Center and an adjunct library instructor at Suffolk Community College.

Lori Ciemielewski has begun working in the Access & User Services department as a Library Clerk 2.
She will be providing frontline support and will be an integral part of our interlibrary loan and resource sharing services. Lori previously worked as a Nursing Station Clerk for Stony Brook University Hospital where she assisted in structuring and organizing patient flow progress and maintaining patient medical records. Lori received her undergraduate certificate in medical billing and coding in 2011.

In an effort to help flatten the curve, all University Libraries events scheduled through March 31 have been cancelled. The University Libraries have cancelled library-sponsored events through March 31. The libraries are also working on an adjusted schedule.

Campus Updates-Cobleskill
« Reply #2 on: March 26, 2020, 07:43:23 PM »
With everything going on I almost forgot about reports and updates for tomorrow. The big news at Cobleskill, as with many campuses, is that the library is closed until further notice. We are mostly working from home and only working from work 1 or 2 days a week as needed, and staggering the days so that there are no more than 3-5 people in the building at a time.

SUNY Delhi, like many other campuses, made the decision to close the library for the remainder of the semester. Librarians and library staff will be working remotely to continue to provide essential library services like reference, instruction, and research assistance. Although all of our planned programs for the remainder of the semester have been canceled we're now looking at ways to provide programming through zoom and Facebook. Plans are in the works to do an abbreviated version of our Ugly Art Night Program and we have been working on a lib guide to gathering together all of the free online tours and streaming being offered during the COVID-19 outbreak. Jenny Collins is training two of the library staff to perform basic archiving duties during the pandemic.

Keep on keeping on, all!
