President's Report
« on: January 09, 2020, 10:54:16 PM »

Happy New Year and welcome back!  I hope that everyone enjoyed their Holiday break!

Our remaining Council Meetings are scheduled for:
March 27, 2020:  Mohawk Valley Community College
June 17, 2020:  Mohawk Valley Community College

I have just a few updates:

I'm continuing to work with Mary Timmons on the Librarians data project.  Thank you, Mary, for your continued conversations with David Lamphere at SUNY and gathering all of that interesting data!

I've been working on the SUNYLA Midwinter Virtual Conference with Team Awesome.  Thank you to everyone for putting together another great virtual conference!  Jill Locascio has more information in her Forum Post:

The 2020 Conference Planning Committee is hard at work ensuring another great conference, being held this year at Mohawk Valley Community College in June. Thank you to everyone that's been involved with the planning!  I heard from Jocelyn Ireland that the SUNYLA water bottles and mugs were received and came without damage from shipping (yay!)  For more details about the conference, please check out Jocelyn's Forum Post at

The SUNYLA Logos are up on the website!  I created a webpage with download links to different logo sizes and you'll need to have the secret password to access them at  If you need the password, please reach out to me at

I looked into creating a CafePress account, and I need to know what email address I should.

Library Advocacy Day is Tuesday, February 25, 2020. Does anyone plan on attending?

Three items that we'll talk about under new business:

-- Marc Wildman, the director of CLRC, contacted Carol Anne and asked about having a liaison for ESLN (Empire State Library Network).  Marc expressed interest in having a stronger affiliation with SUNYLA and the SUNYLA conference.
-- Sienna Leadership application committee for SUNY Libraries Consortium [Member(s) from Exec Board]
-- SUNYLA Council Meeting travel for SUNYLA Webmaster

Respectfully submitted,
Bill Jones (SUNY Geneseo)
