SUNY Library Services Platform (LSP)
• And, we’re off! Kick-off meeting with Ex Libris and SUNY vanguard campuses occurred March 9, 2018; project contacts from Ex Libris have been assigned and introduced; weekly meetings have been scheduled and are underway; good luck to the LSP Implementation Team and the vanguard campuses;
• LSP Update (March 1, 2018) webinar recording is available;
• Significant product documentation on Alma and Primo is available at the Ex Libris Knowledge Center (no logon necessary);
• Stay up to date on developments via LSP website, SLC website RSS feed and/or the new sunylsp email list;
Electronic Resources
• The Commercial Products Committee (CPC) is conducting a SUNYConnect database review; see below for more details;
• Trial access to the American Antiquarian Society (AAS) Historical Periodicals Collection is available (suny1/ebscotrial); please get in touch with statements of interest;
• Details have been shared regarding upcoming renewal of discounted site license to The Chronicle of Higher Education; and more soon regarding site license pricing for new subscribers (20% discount);
• Cold calls and related inquiries – Does your library have (purchasing) interest in a new license for BrowZine, IBISWorld, OpenAthens, Ovid Nursing Community College Basic Journal Collection, PhilPapers, Yewno Unearth ?
Open Educational Resources / Open Access
• SUNY/CUNY OER Showcase is scheduled for March 23rd;
• SUNY OER workshops – Oneonta (March 23), Suffolk (April 28), Canton
(May 14), Geneseo (May 14), Morrisville (May 18) more information and free registration available;
• The SUNY Board of Trustees are scheduled to take up an open access resolution during an upcoming Spring meeting; look for webinar announcements on this subject including an event tentatively scheduled for March 26, 2018;
SUNY Libraries Consortium (SLC)
• SLC full membership meeting – April 18-20, 2018 (Syracuse, NY);
• Commercial Products Committee is on schedule to make SUNYConnect database recommendation to the SLC Board prior to their upcoming meeting (3/29/18);
• The CPC is currently reviewing a cost sharing model for a possible purchase of the AAS historical archive;
