SUNY Library Services Platform
• SUNY and ProQuest have completed negotiations in regard to the Alma and Primo acquisition; contract with SUNY and NYS entities for final reviews;
• Significant product documentation on Alma and Primo is available at the Ex Libris Knowledge Center (no logon necessary);
• Initial campus LSP implementations will be at Binghamton, Brockport, Buffalo, Oneonta and Potsdam;
• A recording of the September 7th webinar is available;
• Stay up to date on developments via website RSS feed and/or the new sunylsp email list;
SUNYConnect LMS
• Work has begun with two groups of campuses (11 in total) to conduct a second (OCLC) reclamation project in preparation for the migration to the LSP;
• Aleph data analysis and inventorying is ongoing in the context of migration to the Alma system;
Electronic Resources
• Trial access to Web of Science has been established through November;
• 2018 renewals for Annual Reviews subscriptions are being solicited and processed;
• Campuses are being polled about the 2018 subscription of the New England Journal of Medicine; please respond if your library has not been indicated their participation;
• OLIS is in discussions with the Wall Street Journal and Statista in regards to SUNY site license offers;
• Database survey results have been shared with the SLC Board as well as the Commercial Products Committee; details to be shared with the SUNY library community asap; thanks to those who responded to the survey;
• Please contact Patrick Moriarty at JSTOR regarding your library’s participation in the JSTOR evidence-based acquisition program;
• Cold calls and related inquiries – Does your library have (purchasing) interest in ACLS Humanities Ebooks, Choice, IGI Global (books, journals, etc.), Peter Lang Publishing?
Open Educational Resources
• SUNY OER workshops – Westchester October 10, 2017 with other dates and locations to be added; more information and free registration available;
• Karen Gardner-Athey conducted an “Implementing OER” course; “Introduction to OER” course (September 27-29) is being held in conjunction with the Online Learning Consortium;
Collaborations
• SUNY Libraries Consortium (SLC) has announced the membership of the Commercial Products Committee;

• “Mr. [Carey] Hatch will serve as Senior Associate Provost for Academic Services, overseeing Application Services, Financial Aid, and Enrollment Services. He will continue to oversee library services and open electronic resources. Carey has been with SUNY for 33 years, most recently leading academic technologies and innovation” [SUNY System Administration announcement – July 28, 2017]
• Mark McBride has taken over some supervisory duties for SUNY’s Office of Library and Information Services;
• Congratulations to Bill Jones and wife Marji on the birth of their daughter (August 27, 2017);
