SUNYConnect LMS and Related Activities
•   Thanks to The Aleph Group (OLIS/ITEC), the v.22 upgrade work has been completed for all development systems on the shared servers;
•   Upgrade of the production systems is scheduled to begin June 21, with completion scheduled for August 11.

SUNYConnect Library Services Platform
•   SUNYLA pre-conference program (6/8/16 1:30pm) – “Finding the Right Platform for Convergence and Cooperation: Selecting the Next ILS for SUNY”;
•   The Library Systems RFI Review team presented a substantive update/status report at the SCLD meeting in April.
Empire Library Delivery
•   The SUNY Council of Library Directors voted to keep ELD as a SUNYConnect core service with the current five stop/delivery parameter for all SUNYConnect participants;
•   A new agreement will have to be established between SUNY and the Empire State Library Network regarding ELD and for after December 2016.

Electronic Resources 
•   Extension of current licenses – EBSCO databases (through June 2018), EDS (June 2018), hosted Curriculum Builder application (June 2018);
•   Work on shared nursing ebook collection renewal is underway; one third of SUNYConnect participates in this shared collection (via STAT!Ref); get in touch if your campus would like to join the group; additional details coming soon;
•   Look for announcements regarding Scopus webinars, consultations and training sessions;
•   The SUNY team and Elsevier met April 19, 2016 to begin discussions on a wide range of topics (current licenses, increasing the value of current licenses, issues related to changes in scholarly communication/publication and pricing/business models);
•   EBSCO has announced that JoVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments) is now indexed in EDS;
•   Cold calls and related inquiries – Does you library have (purchasing) interest in Emarketer, Informa (& Taylor/Francis), JoVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments), Kanopy (new PDA customers), OECD publications,  PolicyMap , Skillsoft/Books24x7, and/or Springer/Nature ? 
Open Educational Resources
•   SUNY OER Services center announced --“Open SUNY Textbooks scales up open educational resources (OER) adoption and creation services for SUNY campuses and faculty”; “Major support and funding for expanding SUNY’s use of OER come from the SUNY Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, Alex Cartwright, as well as the SUNY Office of Library and Information Services.” (from press release); also see article from Campus Technology;
•   The Intermediate OER Topics course is currently underway;
•   Thursday conference session (SUNYLA; 10:15am) – “Open SUNY Affordable Learning Solutions: An Update on OER Activities”.

•   The SCLD meeting included a successful “gallery walk”; thanks to those who worked to highlight some of the great things going on around SUNY libraries; take a look at the various posters here;
•   Please distribute this survey (from the University Faculty Senate) on open access and scholarly communications widely around campus.

•   Many thanks to Laura Murray for decades of service to the State University of New York and to SUNYConnect; Laura has retired from SUNY but will work part-time (remotely) on ongoing open educational resource initiatives;
•   The SUNY Office of Library and Information Services is still awaiting final word on being able to fill at least one vacancy;  work is going forward on hiring a shared web programmer (shared with Open SUNY) as well as for a systems librarian position.
