SUNYConnect LMS and Related Activities
• Work is ongoing regarding the Aleph upgrade to v22 for campuses with Aleph installed on the shared server environment at ITEC (currently at v20); while we don't anticipate major changes with Version 22 there are some nice enhancements and fixes; we expect to have the upgrade completed by summer 2016; as always, we hope to minimize any downtime;
• A new Footprints Knowledge Base Solution is now available:

• The Library Systems RFI Review team is Shannon Pritting (chair; SUNY Poly), Maureen Zajkowski (OLIS), Rebecca Hyams (Maritime), Gregg Kiehl (Tompkins Cortland), Jenn Murray (Buffalo), Gail Pawlowski (OLIS), Violet Price (Downstate), Angela Rhodes (Morrisville), Jennifer Smathers (Brockport);
• The team presented information on the SUNY library survey regarding a new library system as well as other activities during a January 21, 2016 webinar; a recording of the session is available; recording link has been posted to sunyla-l and scld-l email lists;
• Tentative schedule: vendor demos (spring 2016), SUNY request for proposals (end of 2016, beginning of 2017).
Empire Library Delivery
• Details related to the Empire Library Delivery service have been changed recently by the Empire State Library Network; SUNYConnect governance will need to decide what additional options might be available to SUNYConnect institutions and their ELD service; such changes would come into effect no sooner than July 1, 2016.
EBSCO Discovery Service
• An EDS widget will be made available to access the NYS Historical Newspapers site directly from the EDS interface;
Electronic Resources
• A university-wide free trial of Web of Science is likely to start in mid-February; trial access will be available for approximately two months;
• The SUNY-specific knowledgebase for ScienceDirect has been updated in EBSCO and ProQuest systems;
• Cold call – please contact the OLIS Liaison if you are interested in IHS Standards & Regulations Industry Products; as well as information on interest in the EBSCO product/resource, PrepSTEP
• Thanks to Stony Brook’s participation and the SCOAP3 initiative for making the following journals open access publications: European Physical Journal C – Particles & Fields, Journal of High Energy Physics, Nuclear Physics B, Physics Letter B.
SUNY Digital Repository
• The SUNY Digital Repository includes 32 Campus Communities, 341 Collections and 40,033 Items; the SDR’s current world ranking is #418 (out of 2000+ repositories).
Open SUNY and Related Activities
• Some OLIS staff members have been involved in a variety of Open SUNY activities (Open SUNY ALS, revising the Open SUNY “digital DNA”, etc.)
