At our June meeting I was appointed as the new SCFC Liaison. SCFC is the SUNYConnect Coordinating and Finance Committee and is a committee out of SCLD.
Chris Rudecoff (Morrisville) is the new chair of SCFC. With previous committee chairs we (SUNYLA) have in the past not always been included in the discussions or meetings even though we are listed in the SCFC bylaws as a non-voting member. Chris has been really good so far at keeping me in the loop.
For future SCFC Liaison reference: I did learn that SCFC has its own listserv where their communications go out. John Schumacher is manning that list.
Right now SCFC is looking over their bylaws again. The issue right now is with staggered membership terms for the various sector representatives. Things got a little bit off with retirements and departures and subsequent replacements that they want to line things up better to ensure some level of continuity within the committee.
SCFC will be meeting over breakfast on Friday at the SCLD Fall Meeting next month. Unlike in the past the meeting is listed on the agenda for the full meeting.
