Quite a few things to report on:
-Elections for 1st VP, 2nd VP, and Treasurer were conducted in April. Congratulations to Bill Jones (1st VP- Geneseo), Laura Evans (2nd VP- Binghamton), and Greg Bobish (Treasurer- Albany). New officer terms begin following the conference on Friday.
-Rosanne and I attended the Spring meeting of SCLD at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown in April. The big discussions were on assessment, strategic planning, and the future of OLIS and SUNYConnect.
-As part of my transition to my new post I have begun attending SCLD executive board conference calls, which they plan to have more regularly. We had calls on May 15th and June 1st where we discussed the SCLD's stategic plan, SUNYConnect, and other related issues. They're also looking into having regional-level meetings across the various sectors in-between their Fall and Spring meetings.
-The delegate list is in pretty good shape. We still have a few vacancies, but I trust that Bill will be able to take care of those after I hand it off to him.
-I will be hosting a New Member/1st-time Attendee gathering at 5pm (just before the membership social) on Wednesday in the Red Room (same room the council meeting will be taking place in). If this is your first SUNYLA you should come!
