This has been a busy time for the union. The governor’s new SUNY budget has called for 10% of the SUNY campus budgets to be held pending the submission of plans for performance-based funding. The plan also calls for extensive investments in experiential legislation, cuts to Educational Opportunity Programs, incentives for participating in Start-UP NY, and bonuses for high-performing faculty researchers and presidents. We encourage librarians to keep up on the news regarding the state budget and to let their local legislators know where they stand.
