SUNYConnect LMS and Related Activities
• Extensive efforts are ongoing in regard to the One Bib/Shared catalog project; this includes data analysis, planning and specification of technical environment and ongoing project analysis/revision;
• A proof of concept system is in the works, using a subset of SUNY catalogs to test the One Bib/Shared catalog; the campuses involved in the prototype are Brockport, Buffalo State College, Cortland, Downstate Medical, Empire, Genesee, Hudson Valley, Jamestown, Old Westbury, Optometry, Suffolk, and Tompkins Cortland;
• SUNYLA Conference participants can participate in a session on the One Bib project Thursday June 12, 2014;
• “SUNYOne – diversifying the SUNY Library Collection” has added approximately 1500 first copy titles to the overall SUNY library collection; please get in touch about your campus participating in the next round of SUNYOne.
EBSCO Discovery Service
• Phase 3 campuses are in the process of implementing EDS;
• SUNY Downstate has joined the 50 other SUNY institutions using/implementing EDS;
• Work is underway to include the following as part of relevant EDS implementations: Films on Demand (Academic Collection);
• “SUNYs and EBSCO Discovery Service” Special Interest Group – SUNYLA Conference – June 11, 2014 4-5pm – Standish Room (Science Library)
• EDS training session -- 6/23/14 training session in Rochester (registration form for this Rochester session should be available soon).
Electronic Resources
• Elsevier has presented to SUNY an initial offer for a new ScienceDirect license as well as a system-wide license for Scopus and for Cell Press;
• Discounted pricing has been received from the vendor of Films on Demand; similar pricing has been requested from Alexander Street Press (for their collection of videos across academic disciplines);
• Kanopy video streaming is offering trial access; to register

• Campus-specific administrative access (usage reports, IPs, branding, etc.) is available upon request for the New England Journal of Medicine site;
• SUNY’s license for 360Link ends June 30, 2014;

• Thanks to Stony Brook and System Administration, SUNY is a participant in the SCOAP3 initiative making certain physics journals openly accessible;
• The SUNY Collections and Access Council is seeking additional libraries interested in an Oxford University Press monograph purchase offer;
• The “ScienceDirect (SUNY)” title list and holdings has been updated; updated list is in place at EBSCO; update has been sent to ProQuest.
Open SUNY and Related Activities
• A SUNY implementation of the “affordable learning solutions” approach (from California) is being developed;
• Open SUNY+ (wave II) program nominations are being considered for January 2015 inclusion;
