Welcome everyone to another year with SUNYLA!
I want to start out by giving a shout out once again to the amazing team at Brockport for a wonderful conference in June. The planning team and hosts created a great atmosphere of fun and engagement.
This leads me to my goal for this year - continued engagement, networking, and support for our colleagues and peers across the library systems. So many of us are facing a multitude of challenges at our libraries (staffing shortages and budget cuts among others), that the support we gain from organizations like SUNYLA can be invaluable. Take advantage of the lists, the discussions, the webinars, and the professional development. SUNYLA has been around for more than 60 years - and our goal has always been to provide support for the workers of the SUNY libraries.
If you have suggestions on how we can continue to do that this year, please reach out to myself or another member of the E-Board. In the meantime, join a committee or attend one of the many events already in motion. Look forward to the Mid-Winter and Annual Conferences, and get involved if you are able.
