1. We have three new tenure-track librarians who started with us on January 1: Ellis Ging, Kaci Wilson and Kate Wantuch.
2. We are restarting the search for the Business and Data Services Librarian and the Scholarly Communications Librarian.
3. The Libraries and Provost’s office are working together to put parameters in place for new faculty startup packages for future librarian hires that include funding for Professional Development, graduate assistant support, and materials. We hope to have this funding in place for the upcoming round of faculty hires.
4. Annum Architects met with library leadership on November 7, another meeting is set for January 16. We are reviewing test fit concepts for the University Library master plan. A meeting with Library faculty/staff will be set after that.
Collections
5. The University Center Deans and members of their collections staff will meet on January 20, to discuss the new Elsevier agreement and more formal strategies for SUNY-wide contracts and services.
Services
6. We now have a webpage with instructions for direct linking to electronic resources that faculty can use for their Brightspace courses. This page highlights the accessibility benefits of linking to library resources rather than uploading PDFs. Angela Hackstadt presented this content at 3 faculty workshops hosted by the Center for the Advancement of Teaching, Learning, and Online Education during the first week of January.
7. Alyssa Panetta is providing accessibility training for our librarians on February 19th to cover the accessibility requirements and share resources, including our new accessibility libguide.
