The IDEA committee will be concluding our first Insights Book Club read in December. We had a great time with "Can't Even: How Millennials Became the Burnout Generation" by Anne Helen Petersen and we look forward to selecting the book for the spring semester soon. If you have ideas for a DEIA/wellness related topic we should take on for the next read, please share!
On a different note, we have seen increased instances of SUNY librarians being harassed for perceived "controversial" or "woke" teaching. I'll discuss more in the meeting but SUNYLA needs to be conscious of our members' need for support in this time of increased violence, while taking care to protect privacy and not fan the flames of these attacks.
