New Paltz

Staffing
- We are still without a cataloging librarian following Megan Coder's departure in August. A search is not approved yet.
- Nakia Palka is returning to STL as a Circulation Supervisor.

Programming
- We are gearing up for the library's stressbusters event before finals. We usually have food and button-making for students.
- Jen Rutner is offering "Ask A Librarian" sessions in the Disability Resource Center this semester.
- Kate Bellody is working with Student Sustainability Ambassadors on promoting "library of things" offerings in STL and the surrounding public libraries.

SUNY Delhi

  - We had our 8th annual LibraryCon in October with over 100 students attending the event. Lots of fun had by everyone. It's always a fun and collaborative way for the library to keep the fall semester exciting.
  - Carrie Fishner sat on a panel with two faculty from our CJ and LAS departments for Banned Books Week and had a great presentation and discussion with students on censorship and how it affects not just our libraries, but the First Amendment and the laws surrounding so much
  - Due to our staffing shortages, we have focused on smaller, slightly yet interactive displays this semester rather than larger programs. We are still getting good interaction (voting on books is popular)
  - We are gearing up for end of semester activities including Stress Less events, Night Against Procrastination, etc...
  - Library Instruction requests are up this semester, and we are working to fine-tune our process to accommodate faculty while taking in to consideration staffing needs
  - Library staff are on multiple committees (as usual), but Title II is a big one, as are student success priorities with our new campus strategic plan

(this is mainly a report of my personal efforts, I will make sure to get a general update from the other three library staff for next meeting!!)
Events
- October - held a social hour event that went very well, 91 students attended | Banned books week trivia event & display, 33 students attended
- November - We've been collaborating with a lot of student groups for events this month, which have been going very well so far! We have 6 total collab events planned, three of which have happened so far, average of 27 attendees per event.

Instruction
- Library instruction has been going well this semester, I've had 61 sessions thus far this semester, with 5 more to go next week.

Displays
- Working with the Student Government to get some new Manga for the library!

It's been a busy semester being down a Reference and Instruction Librarian (we miss you Claire!). We ran a search. A candidate has accepted an offer. I will wait until the Board has approved the appointment until sharing who has accepted. The successful candidate is planning on starting in January.

Our two new part-time reference librarians, Mary and Christa, started in October.

Several Library staff members are involved in the Middle States self-study committees.

Here are some updates from Brockport:

-   Drake Library will be welcoming an Archives and Special Collections Librarian in January, look for more details in the next SUNYLA newsletter.
-   We are in the interview process for a Reference and Instruction Librarian.
-   The library is working on our next strategic plan.
-   We had a multi-day whiteboard and social media poll event, Who Said It? Kendrick or Shakespeare, that had strong engagement in both modalities.
