In addition to our usual programming (Community Conversations and the January Instruction Showcase), SILC's Board is hoping to create some deliverables this year. There are two working groups beginning their work this month. The workgroup for Advancing AI Literacy met for the first time last Tuesday. Lauren DeLaubell is leading that group. Lauren is hoping to get a co-chair to help out. Reach out to her if you are interested (lauren.delaubell@cortland.edu). The Shared Repository workgroup will be meeting for the first time on Monday, Sept. 29th. Reach out to me or Nicole Westderdahl if you are interested in joining that meeting and don't already have the link. There was a third group that was going to focus on Micro Courses, but that group is being put on hold. Holly Kuhl will be leading that group. She will be in touch with those who expressed interest in the Micro Courses Workgroup about future plans.
The next Community Conversation will be on Wednesday, October 15, at 11:00 AM. The theme around this session is Research and Reference Help. Come to the discussion prepared with your institution's reference statistics if possible. What are your research help statistical trends? How do you market your reference services? What reference outreach works well for you? The link to the community conversation will be shared over the listserv.
Respectfully submitted,
