At our last NYLA Council meeting in May, we met with the two candidates for the 2024-2025 ALA President position, Sam Helmick and Ray Pun. Congratulations to Ray Pun on being elected.
NYLA ran a Bonfire campaign to sell t-shirts as a fundraiser. While the initial campaign is over, meeting the original goal of selling 200 t-shirts, you can still buy a t-shirt in one of different styles to support NYLA. The purchasing link is here:

https://www.nyla.org/nyla-electionThe NYS legislative session ended last week but for next year, please keep in mind the Freedom to Read bills: S.6350-B, A.6873-B, S.7677-A, and A7843.B. The Senate has already passed S.6350-B, but the different pieces of legislations are to address schools and publics both. We are also looking at the E-Book Consumer Protection bill (S.6868-A).
