Hi everyone! Sorry if I miss the meeting - I can't login to Zoom- can't find the passcode- but here's our report:
The Personnel Policies Committee met twice in April to revise the 2nd draft of the SUNYLA Stay Survey based on the feedback from reviewers. We were very grateful for the time and input from the five SUNYLA members who volunteered to do this (four of these reviewers also reviewed the 1st draft). The number of questions went from 50 in the original survey, to 41 in the 2nd, to 35 in this latest version.
Our next step is to convert the survey from Word into a Google doc so we can see what it will look like when it is sent out. Before it is finalized, we would also like to invite feedback from the SUNYLA Officers, and from Jim Neal (
https://library.columbia.edu/james-neal.html), who gave us the idea of converting the Exit Survey to a Stay Survey in the first place.
We are aiming to send the final survey out to everyone sometime later this summer, with a final deadline of October 31. Does that sound reasonable?
As a reminder, the objective of the survey is to understand what the employee experience is like for SUNY librarians and staff. How does work environment impact job satisfaction, turnover, and retention? The survey is meant to be a conversation starter.
We would also like everyone to be thinking about how the results should be shared. Raw data made available to everyone? Just to those in SUNYLA? Published? Summarized in a report from the PPC? And/or
We can discuss more at a future meeting.
