OLIS Site visits - the SUNY OLIS site visit survey is due today Friday, March 22. We'd love to visit your campus this year to hear how things are going. We anticipate most visits will last about 2-3 hours. (Note that if you've already submitted the survey, there is no need to re-submit) https://sunyolis.libwizard.com/f/alma_five_year_visit

IPEDS - Academic Libraries report due on April 3.

IPEDS - OLIS is tracking on the recent OMB call for changes to IPEDS.  https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2024/03/04/2024-04509/agency-information-collection-activities-comment-request-integrated-postsecondary-education-data

We are specifically watching comments on the planned elimination of the Academic Libraries (AL) survey in IPEDS beginning in the 2025-26 administration. We are also speaking with SUNY Institutional Research staff on IPEDS data collection. Previously, IMLS funded a feasibility study on transition of the Academic Libraries (AL) survey from NCES to IMLS, but current details on the implementation or funding to support a transition are unknown. IMLS currently gathers Public Library Statistics and The State Library Administrative Agency statistics. We expect statements from ARL (in the process of convening staff members and committee chairs to discuss options for an ARL statement) or ALA and other organizations supporting library consortia.

Comments are due by May 3, 2024. Anyone is welcome to comment. We hope to share more details with you in coming weeks.
