OLIS Liaison report

Hi all,

Excited to meet people in person this week. Some updates from OLIS:

* Please welcome our new Metadata Coordinator & Support Specialist, Marcy Strong, who started on April 27th.
* Schol Comm Community of Practice meeting June 22 - topic is IR policies
* SUNY Office of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development (ORIED) and SUNY Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS) are offering a summer webinar series, "Managing Your Researcher Profile and Scholarly Record: ORCID at SUNY." * SUNY Libraries Accessibilities Community of Practice - June 26 (1-2)
* LARS Survey due August 11
* We awarded $300,000 in funding for OER Impact Grants - thank you to all the applicants.
* OER Summit October 11-12 (virtual) https://sunycpd.eventsair.com/soer23/

* NOVELny - As of June 30, 2024, the NY State Library will cease funding for NOVELny, a decision that affects many of our SUNY Libraries. OLIS's next steps:
1) Now - Analyze usage of top three GALE databases, perform gap analysis to determine the amount of content affected
2) Now - Engage in discussions with GALE to review pricing options (started conversation/ met with Beth Hyer)
3) Meet with ESLN
4) Meet with NY State Library to talk about possible outcomes
5) Mid-July meet with OLIS advisory board to review gathered information and formulate plan, which may include task group.
6) Communicate next steps in July / August
