IDS Project just finished another round of the annual ILL 101 sessions for Assessment, Borrowing, Copyright, and Lending. We had approximately 200 people for each session.
We will be having our Regional User Groups again in May. We are planning on having the physical meetings at Geneseo, HVCC, and Optometry, depending on the number of registrants. If we don't get a good number of registrants, we will move that group to the virtual session we are planning for non-NY libraries.
The IDS Conference will be held again at Utica College on July 27 & 28, 2023. It is the 20th anniversary of the IDS Project and we are looking forward to the celebration!
IDS has also submitted a full proposal to the IMLS for $240,000 to develop a new system we are calling Cross-Share. We will find out if we get the grant in July.
University of Pennsylvania is helping to update all of the IDS Project addons for ILLiad.
Jessica Alexander, the new IDS Project Administrative Assistant, has completed the first run through the ALIAS Licensing Database.
Mark Sullivan will be presenting with a group of other consortia directors at the annual ICOLC Conference in April. The presentation is "Strategies for Collaboration" and is focused on helping libraries deal with rising costs of systems and support. We will also be discussing the issue of metadata ownership.
