Professional Development Grants: Support for your Virtual Professional Development!
--Lisa Errico, PDGS Chair, Nassau Community College

Even though the COVID-10 pandemic has put a damper on travel to professional conferences and events, there are still some great opportunities for professional development. Although we have seen an increase in free virtual conferences, there are still some events and elearning programs that require a registration fee. Why not apply for a SUNYLA grant to cover the cost?

In the past, Professional Development Grants have helped fellow SUNY librarians reach the national and global stage by attending, networking, and presenting at a wide variety of conferences/programs. Now SUNYLA can support the same activities, virtually. Consider these upcoming virtual events:

ACRL 2021 Conference (April 13-16)
ACRL eLearning (online courses)
ALA Annual Conference 2021 (June 23-29, 2021)
Charleston Conference (November 1-6, 2021)
Learning and the Brain Education Conferences
The Science of Teaching During a Pandemic (February 20, 2021)
Teaching Purposeful Brains (April 17-18, 2021)
LOEX  2021: Online (May 11-14, 2021
Qualitative and Quantitative Methods in Libraries (May 25-28, 2021)

SUNYLA’s grants program is used to reimburse members for expenses associated with professional growth activities when other funding sources are not available. SUNYLA members in good standing qualify. Learn more about the SUNYLA Professional Development Grants Program and download the application at:
