Membership Development Committee Report

Here are the latest membership stats for January 2021

Current members: 390
Lifetime Members: 36
Student members: 94
Delegates: 56

SUNYLA  membership has remained steady.

Due to Covid and working off-campus conditions, physical checks to SUNYLA will take some time to process. At this point, deposits should all be up-to-date, as per the Treasure's report. Most of membership is paid via PayPal.

The SUNYLA LIS Student subcommittee was convened with many interested members! Amanda Lowe agreed to serve as the chair.  First Meeting report

1.   Current committee membership: Amanda Lowe (chair), Jocelyn Ireland, Fred Stoss, Mechele Romanchock, Joan Cook, Melissa Netzband, and Keri Thomas Whiteside.

    a.   If you are interested in joining this committee, please reach out to Amanda Lowe (amlowe@albany.edu)
2.   During this meeting we discussed who would be a direct liaison with each library school   
    a.   University at Buffalo - Amanda
    b.   Syracuse - Fred/Keri
    c.   Pratt - Mechele
    d.   UAlbany - Jocelyn
    e.   Palmer School - Joan
    f.   St John's - Melissa
    g.   Queens - [vacant]
    i.   If membership has any direct connections with anyone within these schools, please reach out with contact information or anything else that may be helpful for the school liaisons.

3.   Carol Anne shared list of current student members

4.   Committee discussed ways of interacting with student membership and decided that we should survey students that are currently members as well as students that could be potential members before we start planning any programming, etc.
    a.   Keri agreed to work on drafting a survey
    b.   Jocelyn agreed to work on drafting an email
    c.   Committee decided to wait to send anything out to students until the start of the spring term.

5.   Committee would like to request a small starting budget of $150, with the hopes that we can use it for future programming endeavors after the return of survey results

6.   The next meeting is on January 22nd, 2021
