Scholarly Communication Ad Hoc Committee
« on: November 12, 2020, 06:42:40 PM »
Following the scholcomm roundtable at SUNYLA 2020, where Wendi Ackerman (Deputy Director, Upstate Medical University), Beth Brown (Director of Assessment & Scholarly Communications, Binghamton University), and Chris Hollister (Interim Head of Scholarly Communication, University at Buffalo) shared their experiences with drafting, implementing, and promoting their campus open-access policies, we had a discussion offline of how best to build a scholcomm community within SUNY. We agreed that while there was interest in the SUNYLA roundtable and subsequent information sharing, sorting out the method for developing a productive and collaborative role within the community remains a challenge.

As we continue to find our way to fill a niche that will inspire energy and help build a community of practice, we continue to leverage informal networks for information sharing.

We welcome suggestions and will continue to meet at least once annually during SUNYLA, offering scholcomm-focused programming.
