I've transfered the money from Paypal to the main checking account.
The total balance is $62535.40.

Because the treasurer is at the hosting campus, we're going to use the main SUNYLA account for conference expenses and track them separately on the balance sheet.

Also, we're now a 501(c)(3). Our new EIN is 41-3982588. I will be figuring out how to move our funds from our 501(c)(6) to the new 501(c)(3) then we'll dissolve the 501(c)(6).

JCC has a new Assistant Dean of the Learning Commons and Online Learning, Dr. Laura Parmenter.
I am retiring this year so there will be a position for a reference librarian posted shortly.
 We are slowly putting our library back together after a "refresh"--books are getting unboxed and shelved. Everyone is excited about this!

Oswego

Oswego hosted a series of professional development sessions and collaborative discussions with Oswego County school librarians and representatives of the NCLS public library system last week. The topics ranged from AI, the NYS Portrait of a Graduate, and building a culture of reading.

The library has a reference intern this semester! The reference intern will be working with librarians to create a library outreach project, plan and run an event, create asynchronous learning materials, lead an instruction session, and more.

Hey everyone!

The IDEA committee is chugging along with our focus on disability and advocacy this semester. The book club has one more meeting to discuss Demystifying Disability by Emily Ladau, and we're beginning to think about what we want to read for a summer book club so let me know if you have any theme or title suggestions.

In preparation for the Title II compliance deadline we're coordinating a Q&A session with our own Carli Spina and Rebecca Oling, authors of The Digital Accessibility Handbook for Libraries. We're considering either April 6th or April 13th for the online event. Do you think it would be better to meet sooner to allow more time to apply what attendees learn, or to meet later to give people more time to spread the word about the event and develop questions? Once we determine the date I'll send out announcements so spread the word.

Finally, Rai Yiannakos, Maria Plananski, and I will be presenting on behalf of the IDEA committee at the annual conference. Our session is titled "Information as power: Librarians
at the Intersection of Politics and Community" and we'll be discussing two major information-forward advocacy efforts that we've done in very different ways. We look forward to seeing you all there!

EIT Library Accessibility Guidelines Subcommittee is looking to add to our membership. In this committee we have done a lot of work on updating implementation guidance for the EIT policy especially as we near the Title II deadline. We are in the final stages of that draft. And we would love more hands on deck to look over that (bonus you get a sneek peek!)

We also plan discussions and training, hold webinars on useful topics, etc.

Beyond that, this group is a wonderful way to support your libraries and hone your accessibility skills with generous support. Feeling alone or overwhelmed about accessibility? Join us.

Alfred University - Ceramics - We received a generous donation of several pieces of furniture (soft seating chairs, a modern carrel, and a bookcase) from an alum and we are hard at work supporting digital accessibility on our campus.

Personnel
   • Scholarly Communications Librarian position is posted; online interviews are underway.
   • Business and Data Services Librarian position has also been posted.
Facilities
   • The university's facilities staff are working on converting our older PhD study carrel spaces into tutoring space for our undergraduate learning commons
   • We continue to work with architects, campus facilities, and the SUNY construction fund on our master planning initiative. Our architects recently delivered multiple test fits, and we are moving into preliminary design stages.
SUNY Digital Transformation
   • SUNY Research Connect is live as a system platform to highlight faculty research.
      ○ Faculty manage individual profiles; centers and institutes manage their own entries.
      ○ Libraries provide training support; campus triage is coordinated with DfRED and SUNY ORIED.
   • Continued work to align campus support with SUNY digital transformation expectations, including a sustainable Research Information Management (RIM) approach.
Accessibility
   • We held a LibGuides edit-a-thon earlier this week to work toward meeting Title II guidelines for our LibGuide content.
   • ILL staff worked on updating ILL and doc del cover pages with language about accessibility.
   • The Libraries partnered with our teaching and learning center to offer workshops on accessible course resources.
Collections, Innovation, and Community Engagement
   • Creative Technologies Lab opening scheduled for April 2; expanded maker programming underway, including community partnerships.
   • Video game collection expanded to include classic titles via emulation.
   • Special Collections milestones include full digitization of over 100 years of university yearbooks.
   • Library faculty participating in campus AI governance through the Provost’s AI Taskforce.
   • UAlbany Libraries went live with a partnership with the Albany Public Library.

Here are the latest membership stats for March 2026
Current members: 255
Lifetime Members: 59

Delegates: 56 (missing 4)

Well, we had the 1-year anniversary with WebConnex. It just put up a snazzy new dashboard – much easier. We can still filter some aspects of the system.
Since Logan migrated all memberships over last January, we knew issues would arise. There are several, but workable.  For auto renew, there are issues for people who change credit cards, leave a site, etc. If it mischarges, we can issue a refund. Auto renew does not renew the PD (professional development) donations. We may want to think of ways to generate that PD money.
The system does not notify expired members (non auto renewal); this has to be done manually – not a problem. The membership numbers are very longgggg, if anyone is looking to change, I can do that manually. I changed mine back to my old one.
There seems to be a link out there for the old membership form, if you see it, please let Logan or me know – this is causing some confusion.

The Student Subcommittee – is looking for volunteers for the 5th Annual Future Librarians Day (FLD)! This event is all about helping future and current library school students explore different career paths in academic libraries.
This year's event will be Friday, April 24, from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Zoom. As in previous years, we’ll have three career-focused panels followed by a breakout lunch where attendees can network with all the panelists. You only need to be available for your panel and the breakout lunch—no need to stay the whole time, unless you want to!
Here’s the schedule:
Collections/Archives – 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM
Public Services – 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
Tech Services & Systems – 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM
Breakout Lunch/Networking – 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Each panel will have 4-5 librarians plus a moderator. See the outlined roles for in each session on the sign-up sheet, if you think your position fits (it doesn't have to be a perfect fit.
