Web Manager Report

- Traffic levels on the site have returned to normal following the changes from the 3/6/17 web manager report.  All of the local (New York) IPs should be able to access the site, but if anyone is running into 403 errors, send your IP to web@sunyla.org and I'll adjust the blocked IP range again.

- Updated approved bylaw changes.  I think I've gotten all the changes since the May 2014 updates, but if anyone catches any I missed, please let me know.

- Updates continue as needed; if you find outdated information, please let me know so it can be fixed.  Sending things to web@sunyla.org is the fastest way to get something updated.

Web Manager Report

- Yet another round of spammers/bots hit the site over Presidents' Day, leading to overages in our traffic allowance towards the end of February and briefly taking the site down.  I blocked a bunch of IPs from Russia (based on the site logs) to avoid a recurrence of the traffic spike.  Apparently some western NY IPs are adjacent to some of the large blocks of Russian IPs, so in a few cases I inadvertently blocked some local traffic.  If you run into a 403 error, send your IP to web@sunyla.org, and I'll adjust the blocked IP range.

- Renewed the web hosting for the year.  $119.40.

- Updates continue as needed; if you find outdated information, please let me know so it can be fixed.

Web Manager Report

- Migrated the site to WordPress.  There have been a few hiccups mostly with character issues between Drupal and the WordPress theme (weird ASCII characters replaced things like quotation marks and n-dashes, but only on some pages), but I think I've corrected most of those.  If anything looks weird, please let me know.  Migration has fixed the site search problems, and WordPress versions are updating automatically.

- The main domain (sunyla.org) renews this weekend.

Web Manager Report

- Renewed hosting & sunyla.net backup domain.

- Put together a WordPress test site over spring break - www.sunyla.org/test42/ if anyone has comments.  (Content was last imported back in March.  Not all the subpages have been migrated to the test site yet.)  If it works out all right, I'll switch it over after the conference; WordPress is less work to maintain than the current CMS.

Web Manager Report

- Paid the renewal for the sunyla.net domain.
- The forums were getting inundated by Russian and Chinese spammers and pushing our domain over the allowable limits for our hosting provider; I tweaked the forum sign-up security slightly, so if anyone has trouble setting up accounts, please let me know.  I also may have blocked the entirety of the Ukraine from accessing the site.
- Updated the SUNY libraries and staff listings page.
- Other updates continue as needed; if you find outdated information, please let me know so it can be fixed.
