We've put together an informational LibGuide and are hosting some kind of event (depending on the weather) at Cobleskill.  We'll only get 97% totality, so there isn't as much hype on campus.

Here at Cobleskill, the library hosted a midterm "Pause for Paws" therapy dogs session at last week and will have another the week before finals.

Our monthly Saturday Crafternoons continue, with the next on April 13.

Cobleskill will see only 97% totality for the eclipse, but we will have programming for it rain (NASA live stream) or shine (telescope set up for solar observation).  Hopefully it is "shine," because we also have some eclipse glasses to give out to students.

All our events are viewable on our shiny new events Libcal that our e-resources librarian, Faye Starman, created: https://cobleskill.libcal.com/calendar?cid=18765.

A brief update from Cobleskill - more to come in the February newsletter.

Shannon Kelly has joined us as our new evening operations supervisor in the circulation department.  We're excited to have her on board!

The annual mac & cheese contest will be February 14.

News from the Van Wagenen Library at SUNY Cobleskill:

Our evening circulation supervisor has left us to take a new position outside SUNY.  The position is being searched.

The chili contest was a success!  Prizes were awarded for best tasting, hottest, and most unique chili.  Watch for future updates for Mac and Cheese is Love in February.

"Pause for Paws" therapy dogs return to the Library November 27, a reprise of their successful visit October 16.

Web Manager Report

- This is my last report as Web Manager; I am stepping down after 10 years to let someone else have a go at it and to get involved in SUNYLA in other ways.

- Updates have continued as needed; minutes are up-to-date as of the last approved set.  If you find outdated information, send it to web@sunyla.org, since that email will forward to the new web manager once they are appointed.

Respectfully submitted,
Katherine Brent

Web manager report

- Annual Zoom meeting software renewal paid ($149.90).

- 500-seat Zoom webinar set up for 1 month for Midwinter ($140).  If needed it will be upgraded to the 1000-seat level.

- Our web host is migrating our data to a new server on 1/10/20.  If you post reports to the forum on 1/10, it's possible they may get lost in the data move depending on the timing, so check back on 1/11 and re-post if they disappeared.

(I will probably miss the beginning of the meeting as I will be on the reference desk.)

Web manager report

- Zoom including expanded seating for the last Midwinter conference came to $646.15 total.  If Midwinter will again use Zoom at the 1000 seat level, it will cost the same.  If it will be at the 500 seat level, it will be about $320 total.  Need to request authorization to spend the money and need to know which level we'll want to get.

Web manager report

- The Zoom renewal with the extra capacity for one month comes to $313.09 ($161.89 for the annual subscription and $151.20 for one month of extra capacity for Midwinter).  I'm requesting an allocation to pay for the renewal.  In the future either I or the Midwinter committee should probably request the funds for this at the October/November meeting.
