January 23, 2015 Council Meeting @ FIT / WGIL Update
« on: January 22, 2015, 10:13:14 AM »
1) SUNY Gen-Ed Information Management Competency Taskforce headed by Carleen Huxley is heading (perhaps) toward a conclusion of its first steps with a meeting currently being scheduled for closing conversation.

2) Members assigned (Logan Rath and Alice Wilson) to review possibility of a 3Ts 2015 conference reported back that no conference will be held in Spring 2015. There is discussion however of a joint effort with CUNY for Fall 2015.

3) All SUNY members are encouraged to review the ACRL's draft Information Literacy Framework  http://acrl.ala.org/ilstandards/?page_id=133

For WGIL Co-Chair Michelle Costello,

Mike Daly

March 21, 2014 Council Meeting @SUNY Albany / WGIL Update
« on: March 19, 2014, 08:15:08 AM »

1. The fourth annual 3Ts conference was held at SUNY Geneseo on Friday. March 14, 2014.  Over 100 registrants from K-16 participated in twelve workshop sessions.  Once again this conference was well received and attended.  Further updates regarding financials will be provided once expenses have been addressed.

2. Work continues on the SUNY General Education Information Management Competency review. This WGIL taskforce is being lead by Carleen Huxley.

November 20, 2013 Council Meeting @SUNY FIT / WGIL Update
« on: November 17, 2013, 06:06:02 PM »
An update of WGIL activities:

1. WGIL Taskforce - WGIL was tasked with creating a group to look at potential changes to the SUNY General Education Information Management Competency.  Carleen Huxley has graciously agreed to lead this group of WGIL and non-WGIL members and will be providing an update during this meeting.

2. 3Ts Report: A History of 3Ts Funding. Document is attached and available online (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsbYXAJJSj9VdEtOeXFXZkNLamtSWjRhZkxqZ3U4eGc&usp=sharing) - In short, 3Ts has never received funding or support from SUNYLA.  :)

3. WGIL Membership? - There appears to be no existing database of past or current WGIL members.

4. OpenSUNY/SUNY Libraries One Day Conference in Albany - I will be attending this event as WGIL chair.

Cheers,

Mike Daly
