-- I split all Midwinter 2023 videos and created this YouTube Playlist ( https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXC96E6zpVAYxEFqTQ5zf6H-OD7Kzefdk )
-- I licensed an additional 2 months of 200GB cloud storage space on Zoom for a total cost of $80 for the Midwinter conference

-- I completed all test sessions with session presenters, and I created a new Midwinter webpage and blog post about the conference:  https://sunyla.org/sunyla-midwinter-2023/
-- I licensed Zoom Webinar (1,000 seats) for $340, I licensed 1 month of 200GB Zoom cloud storage for the conference for $40, and I renewed our Zoom One Pro Annual subscription for $149.90.
-- I plan to update the SUNYLA forum software in the next few months.  It should look newish sometime soon!
-- Please be sure to remove stale entries from the SUNY Libraries Jobs & Interns Google Sheet.

The big news:  The SUNYLA website has been redesigned in a very short amount of time!  Thank you to Jocelyn Ireland for collaborating with me on the SUNYLA website.

-- Site updates:

---- Split all Midwinter 2022 videos and created YouTube Playlist ( https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXC96E6zpVAY20rTPdguatHeeMmVK6Ax9 )
---- Added YouTube button on site at footer
---- Added YouTube link on site under Professional Development
---- Modified top level navigation menu items and categories
---- Added plugin to called SiteGround Optimizer for automatic site flush after saving changes on pages and posts ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/sg-cachepress/ )
---- Added plugin called Site Kit  from Google ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-site-kit/ )

Other updates:
-- I met with Carol Anne and fixed the broken year insertion into the membership database when a new member enrolls.
-- I renewed our SUNYLA website hosting for three years, total cost $377.64
-- On the SUNYLA Forum:  I removed the registration question asking the name of the SUNY Chancellor.  There is already captcha there that should work for the purposes of preventing spambots from registering for the forum.

-- I've been working with Jocelyn Ireland on some new SUNYLA webpage themes.  We're using my personal test server to experiment with different Wordpress layouts.
-- I've been working with SUNYLA Midwinter Virtual Conference planning team and the conference is coming up!  I scheduled test sessions with most of the presenters, I created a new Midwinter webpage and blog post about the conference, and I licensed Zoom Webinar (1,000 seats) for $340.
-- I removed the Login link in the left-hand navigation from the SUNYLA webpage.  I'm the only one who uses this link to edit the website and it was causing confusion for our members.

-- Carol Anne Germain and I met in October 2021 to add new code to the https://membership.sunyla.org/join.php page to add a checkbox on the form for enrolling members in the SUNYLA listserv.  This checkbox is checked (value == true) by default.  Once a user submits the form, Jill Locascio will receive an email to add a new person to the listserv.  If the person filling out the form has stated that they are a SUNYLA Delegate, Jill will receive one email indicating that the individual needs to be enrolled in both the sunyla-l and sunylac listservs.

A lot has happened since my last Web Manager report:

-- I split up the individual video presentations from the 2021 Midwinter Virtual Conference recording, posted them to YouTube, and updated the SUNYLA Midwinter webpage:

-- Moments after emailing 1,100+ people that the presentation recordings and webpage were live, I noticed that the SUNYLA website would no longer update changes made in Wordpress, and none of the updates I had made to the Midwinter webpages (and emailed everyone about) had updated.  I took about 3 hours to solve this issue, and it was solved by flushing the Dynamic Caching through the Siteground interface (where our site is hosted).  Thank you to the chat help at Siteground.

-- At the beginning of February, Alana Nuth let me know that she wasn't able to upload any documents to the forum.  After investigating, I found that users weren't able to download documents from the forum either.  There was a problem with the documents path in the Simple Machines Forum settings and it had somehow broken on its own.  This one took a lot of prayer to fix.

-- I enabled https on the SUNYLA website

-- I renewed our Siteground license on March 2, 2021 to host the SUNYLA website for one year for $179.88

Hello, SUNYLA!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to serve as your President for the last year!  Despite the disruption we've all encountered because of COVID-19, we've accomplished a lot this year.  Our membership is growing, we had our biggest Midwinter Virtual Online Conference ever, and I finally got around to making those SUNYLA t-shirts!

I'm really looking forward to this year's annual conference and interacting with attendees through Zoom Webinar and Zoom Meeting.  This year may not be in the same format as our in-person conferences, but I'm optimistic that the feeling of collegiality and community will shine through the program.  Interestingly enough, I received an email from one of the members of the planning team for the ALA LITA Forum to see how we put together this year's conference.  I tell you what, the world is watching.  I hope you all find the conference inspiring and meaningful, and that you take this opportunity to expand your network.
