There is no time like the present to celebrate libraries as institutions supporting inquiry and access to information while exploring opportunities for inclusivity in our research and practice.
On June 14-16, 2017 join us at Stony Brook University for the SUNYLA 2017 annual conference where we will come together to share and learn about the diverse ways we meet users’ needs in our collections, spaces and services.

Rates for SUNYLA 2017*:
- $100 for members
- $140 for non-members
- $60 for LIS students
- $60 members/$70 non-members single day registration
The deadline to register for this year’s conference is
May 20, 2017 May 23, 2017.
*New Registration System: This year we are trying a new registration system that we hope will simplify things. The new system uses a different payment gateway, and the form looks different from last year. Our new system should automate a lot of the manual work that was done in the past.
*Member Rate: You must be a current (2016-2017) member of SUNYLA in order to receive the member rate for registration. This means that if you are not currently a member, you must join SUNYLA and wait for your membership to be processed before registering for the conference at the member rate. To receive the member discount, you must enter the appropriate code in the Member Discount field on the registration form. You can obtain the code by filling out the form at http://www.sunyla.org/
*Presenters: For information on reduced rates for presenters, please refer to the Guidelines for the SUNYLA Annual Conference Expenses. You will have a coupon code emailed to you once registration is open.

Tour of Special Collections & University Archives, Wednesday, June 14, 6:00pm-6:30pm
Tour of the Stony Brook University Libraries Special Collections & University Archives. Unique materials include American Revolutionary War-era letters written by George Washington, 17th and 18th century maps of Long Island, and rare books, including the The Nuremberg Chronicle published in 1493. Limited to 15 people. Sign up at registration.
International Culinary Tour Dinner – Thursday, June 15, 6:30pm-8:30pm
Join us on Thursday, June 15, for dinner in our beautiful, new East Side Dining space for an “International Culinary Tour Dinner” – a food lover’s trip around the globe.
There will be an abundance of tasty treats from 5 regions around the world to tempt your palate: Italy & the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Latin & South America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. There will also be a chance to watch the chefs in action! Make sure to bring your sense of adventure…and your appetite!

Behind the Scenes – Staller Center for the Arts
Thursday, June 15, 2:30-3:30pm, Staller Center
Join us for an informative, guided “Behind the Scenes” tour of Long Island’s premiere arts venue, the Staller Center for the Arts. The Staller Center is the home of the prestigious Stony Brook Film Festival, now in it’s 22nd year, as well as spectacular stage performances featuring world renowned artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Patti LuPone, the Martha Graham Dance Company, Ray Charles, Harry Belafonte, and many many others!
While there is no charge for this event, space is limited to 40 people. Please sign up at registration. Meet in the Staller Center lobby.
